Business Fashions For Women

Business fashion is a totally different theme. Up-to-date formal attire is a subtle thing. Though some conventional fashion types are what everybody opts for but women can also research personally to learn the ways to dress in formals. Career clothing for the women is branched into two categories:

  • business clothing
  • business casual clothing

If the career clothing for the woman requires being a business casual, a few important tips must be followed. Business casual is a particular type of clothing. It isn’t as informal as meant to be in a lounge or party. But at the same time it is not as formal as regular office wear; business fashion is a standard clothing code for the career women.

For office casual, pants and skirts do not have to be like a hardcore formal wear. They can be rather casual. They should neither be tight, nor be baggy. Go for solid colors and choose loose-fitting skirts. Career dressing for women should comprise skirts that reach till the knee when standing upright; it would be better if it doesn’t go above the thigh when she is sitting.

Sweaters can be worn as career clothing. The ladies sweaters shouldn’t have bold patterns or a low-cut. The shades and patterns of blouses should match well with the solid color of the pants and skirts. In business fashion a woman can depict her personal style. As long as her dresses present a professional look, they all should be fine.

In many offices there’s a regular business fashion dress code and hence the rules are different. Suits are standard even for the women. Conservative but smart dresses can be worn in such places as career dressing for women. Where as some companies even prefer skirts for women and some do not just care whether a women wears skirt, suits or whatever as long as it is presentable.

Do some research to really find out about the various business options of business fashion. When getting into a new job, it’ll be just fine if you buy a few formal sets. Go to your office, notice your colleagues, gather ideas and then buy some more.

Mens Urban Clothing

The inner city is the original melting pot of all that is new, old fashioned, trendy, unequaled and downright weird. So it isn’t surprising that urban styles originated in perhaps the biggest, busiest and the most urban city on the planet, New York. This is where all the urban fads started.

However, men’s urban clothing developed differently as it went around the world. Every individual city incorporated their own culture and individual preferences into this free flowing fashion style. The characteristics of the overall urban fashion scene are that the fashions are unique, in vogue and practical. It’s also obvious that urban clothing for women needs to be hip and in style, really functional and can adapt to the continuously evolving environment of the city scene.

Urban lifestyle is different. It is fast moving and one needs to be prepared for every eventuality. This is one reason why mainstream fashion, or the clothing one sees on the catwalk in Paris are not very well suitable for urban women. The rigid styling and the cloth used are going to be a hassle in the fast paced city streets. The urban woman should ideally wear fashions that are chic and edgy, and at the same time something bold yet practical, with undertones of ethnic influences. These are only some general guidelines of urban fashion for ladies.

Living life on the leading edge of fashion is not as hard as you might think. If you have a set of comfortable clothes, but overall may look boring, you just need to spice it up a little by mixing them with hip shoes such as boots with raised heels, or some terrific accessories like belts. It is best to make your clothing stand out some to make it urban style.

Other fashion extras that are considered as urban culture include large earrings, necklaces (wearing a couple with varying lengths can give you that urban appearance), cardigans and big belts. Certain items of clothing give hints of ethnic elements, whether in their shades, prints or patterns. Blending these kinds of clothes with simple accessories will give you the urban fashion statement you are looking for.

Urban wear is more than just fashion and clothes, over time it has become a personal statement. The person who is wearing it is stating their individuality. Before urban wear was only associated to hip hop artists. Now, not only hip hop artists are donning the colorful styles, and it has become a worldwide fashion trend.

Fashion for Women

A Mature woman exudes confidence, strength and knowledge. You have a wealth of life experience and best of all you know your body.Let us then look at Fashion for Women over 50.

“What do I wear in bed? Why, Chanel No 5 of course” – Marilyn Munroe

Now that’s decadence with a HINT of luxury!

Coco Chanel: was renowned for her immaculate style, two piece suits, quilted handbags, pearls and chic dresses. Karl Lagerfeld stated “. Coco always borrowed from the boys. She took their jackets, and made them into uniforms for women.” The House of Chanel is still as successful today. Why is that? Coco Chanel left a legacy, her designs were classic pieces that stood the test of time.

She was a true style icon of her time. Other iconic women amongst others would be: Audrey Hepburn, we associate her with the ultimate little black dress and elbow length evening gloves. Jackie (Kennedy) Onassis, she adopted the sophisticated style of Chanel, with her suits, slim fitting dresses and pillar box hats.

My point being here is about elegance, dressing well and looking chic. Just because we maybe 50 plus does not mean to say we are ‘over the hill’. Sack cloth and ashes should be reserved for biblical characters.

So ladies, rise up! Let us now go to our closets and be ruthless! Give to charity anything that you have not worn for 2 years. Then, let’s go shopping. Are you ready for this?

But first: A little research.

What are your best features?

We are going to make the best of them all.

What is your lifestyle like? Do you socialize much? Are you going on vacation soon? Is there a special occasion coming up?

Do you have a budget? If so (most of us do) what is it and how are we going to make the best of your budget?

Who do you admire in the fashion industry? Who’s style do you want to emulate? Better still create your own style.

What are the things you would like to change? For Example Hair – color and cut.

A professional stylist can work wonders and take years off you. Go to a stylist such as Vidal Sassoon/ Toni & Guy or a recommended top stylist for advice.

Next; Spa Treatment

As a minimum invest in a regular manicure and pedicure. Treat yourself every so often to a facial or massage. You could ask your family to buy vouchers for you for your birthday or special occasions. Money well spent.

Healthy living.

It is really essential that we all look at our diet and eat healthier. There is an obesity problem worldwide, it is so important that we look after ourselves. It is not just the mortality aspects, but morbidity too. Look at the consequences – diabetes, heart disease, circulatory problems.

A healthy diet, high in anti-oxidants, regular daily amounts of fruit, vegetables and protein. Minimize carbohydrates and fats. Drink more water. Take some exercise, walking even a little everyday doesn’t cost anything and you will certainly feel the benefits to your body and your skin.

Look after your skin, avoid the sun especially on your face or make sure you have a moderate SPF lotion. Moisturise day and night. Our bodies will inevitably change over time, we cannot stop the aging process, but we can make the best of it.

Are you ready to go shopping?

Look at your underwear. Thongs are out! Go for well-fitting knickers, Spanx, or full pants are so sexy and comfortable. It is important that you have the right underwear to give your shape definition, this is essential to make your clothes hang properly. Our breast shape and density changes after childbirth and after menopause, so get measured professionally.. Try on a shirt over the bra before you purchase it. You will see then the overall shape it gives you. Move around a little. Make sure you are not spilling over the top of the bra cup.

Keep in mind what you want to buy. For example: day wear, holiday wear, evening wear, or essential pieces for your wardrobe?

Don’t be tempted by sale or closeout items if it is not what you went out to shop for. Just because this evening dress was $500 and is it now $90! What a bargain? Not so if it becomes a ‘wardrobe filler’ and is never worn. Believe me we have all made that mistake.

Stores have personal shoppers, so use them to assist you. However, have the confidence to say no, if you are not happy with the style of the clothes chosen.

Don’t be afraid though, to come out of your comfort zone. The tendency is; if you wear ‘baggy’ casual or colorless clothes you will go for the same. Think out of the box. Think chic, think stylish, think flattering. Think of your style icon. What is it you want to achieve?

Fashion for Full-Figured Women

Plus size is the fashion term used for the sizes that fit full-figured women. It is the recourse for women who were apparently not born with slender or slim body types. This way, full-figured women can also stay fashionable and look good even if they don’t share the same size with supermodels Kate Moss, Heidi Klum or Claudia Schiffer.

One fashion tip that all full-figured women must know, and probably already know, is the efficacy of seeking refuge from the color black. If there is one fashion cliché that will eternally be in style, it is wearing black for plus-size women. Black creates an optical illusion that a body is smaller than it actually is. Therefore, a woman who is a size five can look at least a size four or even three if she will wear black.

Another advice for plus size women is to avoid horizontal prints. In fashion, not everything you see is what you get. Most things can be faked, or at least manipulated by optical illusions. Patterns and prints can make a woman’s body look fatter or skinnier. In this case, horizontal lines make you fat.

To avoid body-size discrimination and to cater to a particular target market, many fashion lines are now offering clothes in plus size. Some fashion brands even specifically tailor clothes for plus size women alone. This is good news for many women who find it hard to go between the racks of clothes that simply do not fit. Imagine the stress and mental torture of trying to squeeze in your body to an impossible size. With plus size clothes, voluptuous woman can be fashionable by choice. Now, buying clothes for them is also for fashion’s sake and not just for the sake of purchasing clothes just because these are the only ones that fit.

Fashion has evolves in a way that it is giving more choices to women regardless of their size and by considering what they really want to wear at a style that will suit them. Look at Queen Latifah and Oprah Winfrey. These two women are fashionable in their own right and in their own way. It just proves that being fashionable is not affected by your body type alone, but by simply knowing your body type, accepting it just the way it is and knowing the pieces that will work harmoniously with it.

Another great inspiration is top model Whitney Thompson. She is the winner of America’s Next Top Model Cycle 10. Believe it or not, she is the only plus size model among the brood yet she stood out because of her confidence and her taste for what is truly fashionable. For women who are brought down by their plus size body structure, stop hiding under sheets and layers of fabric and start showing the whole world that fashion is about exuding confidence and not by being a waiflike woman alone.

Fashion For the Full Size Woman

It is an open secret that most women are not size two and they are not six feet tall. And yet, the tiny percentage of the population who conforms to those dimensions seems to be the target of the fashion industry. Rarely do you see fashion that is targeted at the full size woman.

For years the full size woman has been treated as a minority while in fact they have been the majority. Full size women are not only mothers and housewives they are also business women. Trends are shifting and one even sees full size woman models here and there.

It is as if the fashion industry is slowly starting to wake up to the fact that there is a lucrative market for the taking. Not only are they also fashion conscious and sometimes dedicated fashion divas, but the full size woman can look absolutely spectacular in clothing designed for her posture.

There are several stores and boutiques that now specialize in full size clothing. They carry everything from intimate wear to business and evening wear. These stores not only know but they celebrate that real women do have curves, and they also aim to make plus size women looking and feeling beautiful and keeping pace with the latest fashion trends.

Just because a woman is not a size two does not mean that she is not active or even athletic. Plus size clothing, whilst long overdue, is quickly catching up with the fashion world. As the designers prepare for their spring and fall fashion shows many are also creating plus size fashion lines that will focus solely on the woman with curves. This is wonderful news for the full size women, because more and more they can look just as fashionable as that size two six foot tall model on the runway.

Designer plus size clothing must have quality, fashion and functionality in order for the plus size woman to buy their products.

Being a size two is not the norm in everyday life and while fashion designers have not entirely caught up with the real woman, they are getting there one stitch at a time and winning over consumers. Fashion for the full size woman is fun, flirty, fashionable, exciting and beautiful. Just like the women who wear the clothing.
